Get back on the horse…

I took a long break from blogging… and by long break, I mean two months shy of a year! To say that I’ve missed it is an understatement. It’s constantly been at the back of my mind. A little guilty reminder nagging me telling me to blog again. Well, I’m back and I can’t promise to blog often but I do promise to myself that I will blog.

To hold myself responsible, I will tell you what my next post will be:

A review of Deborah Lippmann nail lacquer in Naked. This might not happen until next weekend because of a pending move and upcoming due date for an assignment and study time for an upcoming midterm.

I am studious aren’t I? Actually, that is me taking a break to blog and be a cam whore. My eyes have been so tired, I’ve resorted to wearing glasses again. It reminds me of my days in university. It feels good to blog again! 🙂

Pinkies Up, Ladies!

My friend A hosted a little tea party in her fiance’s backyard and we were all invited to bring something to share. I can’t cook or bake (without the help of S) so I cut some strawberries and bought some tea biscuits and TimTams.

Aren't we classy??

Vegas nevers sleeps…

And Vancouver never stops raining. I heard there was a rainstorm while we were gone and it hailed.

We Found I Found Gallery

It all started with a hunt for this:

This is a envelope locket that we saw at the Got Craft fair we attended on May 2nd. We both liked it a lot but couldn’t find the heart to pay so much for it. I found this on the I Found Gallery online store so we decided to go to their store on Main to see if we could find it. We found so much more than just that locket. We didn’t even end up buying it! We spent 2.5 hours browsing through all the vintage but never used pendants, chains, stones, clasps, bracelets, buttons, even vintage clothes, bags and rugs. S and I were overwhelmed by how many beautiful things were in this store and our stomaches were grumbling so loud since we didn’t have breakfast. We walked away with DIY necklaces.

Happy Birthday to ME!

My oh my, it has been a looong month and a bit. But it has been worth every cent, literally. I have been watching my bank account grow and it is so rewarding to be able to help my parents out and buy them things. They deserve it after all the things they’ve given me. It’s taken me 24 years to see that.

It’s my birthday today and mother nature gifted me with a beautiful day to celebrate my birthday with my family.

I had a lovely time with all my friends last night. Thank you to all that came out for me. It honestly means the world to me.

My royal blue dress was from Jacob. For the first time, I tried on one dress and bought it for my birthday dress. I didn’t go on a long search because I loved the first dress I tried on. I loved it. It was the perfect colour and the ruching on the bust was so pretty. Here’s a closer look..

I got some amazing gifts last night including the shoes from Townshoes I mentioned in this post from bff and friends. I’m breaking them in as I’m typing this entry. They are a little tight around the toes at the moment, but the sales associate assured that they will stretch out. I also got lots of nail polish including the OPI nail polish from the Shrek collection mentioned in this post. Obviously, my friends have been paying attention to my blog! I also got some shorts from Aritzia that I’ve been eyeing for almost a year. And a Clipa! I’ve been reading about those on tPF! I have generous friends. I love you all! 🙂

Loves

Isn’t it appropriate to do a “Loves” post the day after Valentine’s Day?  I think so!

I love…

  • spending Valentine’s day with my babe.
  • marked down chocolates after Valentine’s Day.
  • the fabulous weather we’re having in Vancouver.

This is not typical Vancouver weather in February

  • Olympic energy in Vancouver.  Left, right, and centre, all I see is people wearing Olympic/Canada merchandise.  I’ve never seen or felt such patriotism in the air.
  • Free Olympic events!

I’ll leave you with a picture of what I wore to Russky Dom (Russian House) at Science World.

Sunglasses: Gucci, Cardigan: Wilfred, Purse: Industry, Tank + Jeans: American Eagle, Oxford Shirt (not shown): Talula, Sneakers: Converse, Necklace: Pyrrha

What’s in my purse?

Here are all my dirty little secrets spilled out on my living room floor for all of you to see.  I’ll start from the top left and go clockwise and spiral into the middle.

  • Coach Julianne from the Madison Collection
  • Jimmy Choo for H&M zipper wallet
  • Burberry earmuffs
  • Chapstick lip moisturizer
  • Dior High Shine lipstick in Addict
  • Car Keys
  • iPod shuffle
  • Coach mini skinny with my bus pass, keys, and starbucks gift card
  • Blackberry Curve
  • Work Pass
  • Camera
  • Danier leather gloves
  • Mini Pink Moleskine with biodegradeable pen
  • Tic Tacs

Update 01/04/10:  Unfortunately, I took this picture in the last few days of the year and my clutch was lost on NYE.  So my camera, Blackberry, and Coach mini skinny are all missing now.  *sigh*
